Artist Sheena Rose diagnosed with lupus

Sheena Rose is a contemporary Caribbean artist who lives and works in Barbados.

She announced her diagnosis on her Instagram account today: "Good morning everyone, I would like to share news with you, that two weeks ago, I found out that I have Lupus. It wasn’t easy news to find out. For four years, I was battling this, eyes will swell, lips will swell, hands and feet will swell and sometimes difficult to walk or work. Joint pains and the worst..my throat tightening and felt like I am choking and epipen right next to me. My body is fighting everyday, everyday there is a small attack or painful attacks but I am managing".

Sheena has been featured in the New York Times, Huffington Post, Travel & Leisure Magazine, and Vogue. In 2018, Sheena created poster artwork for the play "Emma and Max", written and directed by Todd Solondz. In 2019, She created a two story mural at the Inter- American Development Bank Headquarters in Washington DC.Sheena also created nine feet tall women mural for an exhibition.
