Laps for Lupus

Like all charities at the moment we are in dire need of donations which have decreased massively during the pandemic. Our research team are still carrying out their work and can only continue do that with our help as they receive no funding from elsewhere.

Sir Tom Moore led the way during the pandemic by fundraising doing laps in his garden so we’re asking that you do some ‘Laps for Lupus’ during October for Lupus Awareness Month’. Even if you’re still self isolating or are in lockdown, you can do some laps in your garden, up and down your street, round the park, even in your own lounge or up and down your stairs! If you manage just one lap a week it all helps support our vital lupus research.

We always encourage people to raise lupus awareness in October by wearing purple, so get out your finest purple outfits, the crazier the better. Get family (as allowed) and even pets involved and have a bit of fun!

Once you’ve decided where to do your laps, get people to sponsor you, maybe you could do a lap (or ten laps?) for every year you’ve had lupus, which also helps get the conversation about lupus going with friends and family when you explain why you’re aiming to complete that particular number of laps.

If you would like a sponsorship form e-mailed to you (download available below), or our logo to add to your sponsorship page please e-mail info@lupus.org.uk.

If you prefer, you can set up a fundraising page so people can donate online to support you. If you want to do that please contact the fundraising team on 020 7848 4701, or e-mail: info@supportgstt.org.uk, please make sure that you tell them you are supporting the Lupus Trust and they will tell you where to set up your page.
