Professor David D'Cruz

David D’Cruz MD FRCP. Professor and Consultant Rheumatologist, Louise Coote Lupus Unit, Guys Hospital, London.

Professor D’Cruz is the Clinical Team Lead of this internationally renowned tertiary referral centre for autoimmune rheumatic disorders. His major clinical and research interests are systemic lupus erythematosus, the antiphospholipid syndrome and systemic vasculitis. He leads the Louise Coote Lupus Clinical Trials Unit which has a portfolio of investigator and industry led trials. His research portfolio includes a translational medicine programme in collaboration with basic science laboratories in the Division of Immunology, Inflammation and Infectious Diseases, Kings College School of Medicine.

Dr Michelle Fernando

I am a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medical & Molecular Genetics, Guy’s Hospital, Kings College London and Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist in Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. My research interests include the investigation of patterns of genetic variation within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) region on chromosome 6 and the functional consequences thereof.  My primary goal is to identify causal variants located within the MHC region in SLE and related subphenotypes (such as renal disease and Sjögren’s syndrome) with a view to further understanding the mechanisms underlying disease susceptibility.

Dr Natasha Jordan

Dr Jordan obtained her medical degree from University College Dublin and progressed to higher specialist training in Rheumatology. In 2009, she  was awarded a Travelling Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and moved to London to join the lupus team at St Thomas’ Hospital.

Professor Timothy Vyse

I trained in Natural Sciences at Trinity Hall, Cambridge and then Medicine at Guy’s Hospital Medical School. I undertook further clinical training in London at Queen Square and Hammersmith Hospital and then a PhD at University of London. My post-doctoral training was at the National Jewish Center for Immunology in Denver, Colorado.
