It could be lupus...

The American programme 'House', featuring Hugh Laurie mentions lupus so often that it's now become a running joke. YouTube have a clip featuring just some of the many times it's mentioned all in succession, just search 'House' and 'lupus' on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qNBOoDiG0w).

Lupus is suggested as a cause of patient's symptoms in lots of episodes, although invariably this is quickly dismissed. In the episode 'Finding Judas', House produces some of his secret Vicodin stash from inside a hollowed-out Lupus textbook. By way of explanation, he says, "it's never lupus." This quote has now appeared on t-shirts, mugs, badges etc!

The lupus clips now appear as bonus material on dvd's of the series.
