Volunteering
Volunteers are essential for any charity to continue its work. At the St Thomas' Lupus Trust all the money for all research and also to support the Louise Coote Lupus Unit is raised by the Campaign Director from a small office at the unit. Obviously one person can only achieve so much, therefore any help volunteers can give is much appreciated.
There are 720 hours in a month. Do you have just an hour to help us, for example at the regular monthly table top sale at St Thomas'? (dates in the nesletter). Do you have a talent for making things? We have supporters who make all sorts of craft items which we then sell to raise funds. We also have a very comprehensive A-Z list of fundraising ideas if you would like to have a go at organising something yourself. If you need guidance on any aspect of fundraising or want to know about our planned events please contact us, we're always happy to help.
Everyone can fundraise for us!! If you have a local shop/pub/hairdressers etc that would be willing to take a St. Thomas' Lupus Trust collecting tin we can supply one. All you need to do then is visit occasionally and see if the tin needs emptying. We recommend that when the tin is half full it is emptied. Recently a mother of a patient took two tins out and within a few weeks gave us nearly £30 - imagine what a difference it would make if we could multiply that by a tin with every supporter/patient at the unit alone! To request a tin (or more) call into the fundraising office when you are next at St. Thomas' or telephone us.
