When in Rome...........
"I am a second year physiotherapy student at the University of Hertfordshire (UH). Last year, all Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) representatives of the South East regional universities arranged several meetings. In these, we decided on a charity to raise funds, where the St. Thomas Lupus Trust was nominated. As a way of raising this money, I was sponsored by the UH 2nd year physio students, family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues to run the Rome Marathon on March 18th 2007. It was a fantastic day. The race began at the Coliseum, a few landmarks the course passed included the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and the Piazza de Popolo. The people were very friendly and the weather was superb. It was around 180c and very sunny, which made the sponge stations heavily utilised! 11,892 people ran the 26.2 miles and I made it with a time of 4:10:53.
I can only hope that the money we all raised through different events, will help many of those suffering from Lupus".- Kerrie Howard, aged 20.
We're most grateful for this magnificent effort by Kerrie who raised £1,300!!
