Fundraising

Each year a new Master is installed as the head of the Lodge and they nominate any charity for their year. All moneys raised or made in that year go towards that and other Masonic charities.

I chose the St. Thomas' Lupus Trust as my Son, David, was diagnosed with the condition some 4 years ago after returning from Glastonbury complaining of an irritation to his face and arms. He underwent some tests at the GP who referred him to a specialist where discoid lupus was diagnosed. He has to cover up in the sun and use a special lotion/cream.

Until then we knew very little about the condition, and since reading the literature and visiting the Lupus Trust I now have a better understanding about the symptoms and condition.

On Friday 1st February 2008 at Masonic Grand Lodge Temple in Great Queen Street, Angie Davidson gave the members of the Lodge a short progress report on the trust and how the research was developing, along with an explanation on the history of Lupus. She was then presented with a cheque by the out going Master WBro Graham Cottington on behalf of the members of the "Green Room Lodge No 2957" for the sum of £2,553.58

We hope that this small token from the members of the lodge will go towards other donations into funding further research with the trust - Graham Cottington. Thank you to Graham and all the members of the lodge for their kind donation.
