City Personnel go all out for World Lupus Day!
To celebrate World Lupus Day on the 10th May, 2007, the Team at City Personnel (Lichfield) Limited decided to take up the gauntlet and hold several challenging fundraising events for the St. Thomas' Lupus Trust.City Personnel (Lichfield) Limited has been in business for the past 10 years. Marlene who runs this very busy family business, with daughter Samantha, was first diagnosed with Lupus and Sjögren's Syndrone two and a half years ago.
Marlene said "As you can imagine running the business can be extremely hard at times, and never more so than in those very early days. Without the support of Samantha, husband Derek and the girls; Laura, Tonnie and Joan, life would be even harder. It was Joan's idea to do something for World Lupus Day. I don't think she realised what an explosion of ideas would come out of it".
The energetic group held an "Afternoon Tea" for their clients, raising £429.50. Samantha and Bev did sponsored Badminton, Joan and Vicky did a 26 mile Walk, Tonnie and Paddy did swimming and Laura did several Running events raising £570.50. This made a final magnificent total of £1,000!!
