ING Bank, hot but not bothered at the London Marathon!
20 members of staff from ING Bank took on the 2007 London Marathon on what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year. The bank selected 5 charities that would benefit from the sponsorship raised by 20 runners.
We were kindly nominated by Kelly Semaine who said, "there were about 20 of us that completed the marathon in times ranging from 3 to 6 hours, we all had a fab time apart from the sweltering heat. I chose lupus as my best friends dad has it and I've seen how it affects his everyday life. He has been very ill with other illnesses but is now on the road to recovery. However, lupus will always be part of his life and after reading some of the stories I realised this is a great charity".
Each of the charities received a cheque for an amazing £7,664.23!!
Well done to everyone that took part, it was amazing that anyone completed the course in the sweltering conditions!
