Firewalk

On 26th June 2003 a group of people tested their bravery by agreeing to walk on fire!!

A crowd gathered at the George Inn on Borough High Street to watch in amazement. Alex Walkinshaw (Sgt Smith from 'The Bill') was cheered on by other members of the TV programme along with Melanie Hill (one of our patrons) who was also  appearing in 'The Bill' at the time.

Dr Piero Reynolds of the Louise Coote Lupus Unit was one of the walkers and said:

"It was a fantastic experience; I would highly recommend it, especially for patients. If they can walk on fire what else could they achieve?"
