Meet a Fellow

Ana Grilo

I work in Hospital Curry Cabral, one of the Lisbon’s Hospitals. In my hospital we have an Autoimmune Diseases Unit where we usually see patients with Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjögren and Hughes Syndrome. The patients are followed by us and if they need to be further investigated or if the condition gets worse they are admitted in the Internal Medicine Ward.

Here I have the opportunity to meet and learn with a team of renowned Rheumatologists that work in this particularly area of Medicine, since that all these diseases are very rare. Much of we know about Lupus, Antiphospholipid and Sjögren Syndrome stems from research and work done in the Lupus Research Unit and the Rayne Institute.

I’m very pleased to be here, and I am sure that all that I have been learning will be very useful in the future. I hope that more doctors can also have a similar experience.
